Don started getting hired to play jazz at receptions in 2005 and had to learn fast, with patient and talented established players like Don Ehret and Tom King. He now plays regularly in small groups and has started his own West End Hot Club to play music springing from the brilliance of Django Reinhardt in Paris in the 1940s. He has played with local groups like the Don Berner Trio, Billie Zizi and the Gypsy Jive, the Jim Findlay Trio and many more.
