Don first developed a love of world music hearing the local folk music during a year living in Sicily when he was six. He played for many years with Vinok Worlddance and toured Taiwan with the Katie Calverley Dancers. More than all Don is a proud member of the Gadjo Collective, the Balkan, Hot Club and Turkish ensemble led by Cam Neufeld. Don plays a Turkish clarinet in G as well as standard French clarinet. He finally upgraded to a pro model Amati on a recent trip to Istanbul.
